You may be a high school student or a current enlistee in the Army, Air Force, or the Navy. It doesn’t matter who you are, because you arrived at this site with a common goal in mind: I want to know how to get into the academy of my desired branch. The main 3 institutions to choose from are:

• West Point (the United States Military Academy)
• the Naval Academy
• the Air Force Academy

The service academies above are the most widely known and receive the most number of applicants, but there are also 2 other service academies that do not receive much credit or attention:

• Coast Guard Academy
• Merchant Marine Academy

The myth is that the Air Force Academy is the most difficult to get into. Erase that assumption from your mind because that is wrong. What we need to do is prepare you for acceptance into all three academies so that the plan is fool-proof. And what you can do is have one academy in mind as your goal but use others as your backup. Because what is your ultimate purpose in applying to a service academy? It is to serve and defend the United States of America, and any of the academies are a stepping stone to dedicating yourself to the country.
